Inspired by Scrappin4Him's "A Day Of Surprises"
http://www.digitalfreebies.com/galle...68/ppuser/1728

The journaling reads:
I have always, as long as I can remember, loved trains! I recall getting stopped by trains on the way to my Grandmother’s house as a child. We’d sit in the car waiting for the train to pass in a mostly industrial part of Detroit counting the cars with Mom and Dad. I used to sneak out to the tracks near the playground by her house and put pennies on the rails, marveling at how the train was powerful enough to squash any resemblance to a coin off of them.

In my late teens and early 20s, I started to read books and magazines. I had the itch to railfan like the readers that contributed to the magazines did. I remember a reader quote from the early 90s in a railfan magazine, “A perfect day is driving a Camaro down a Georgia road kicking up red dirt in pursuit of a train.” The letter was from another woman. I fantasized that the Camaro in my garage could be that car and I could be the one chasing the train.

In 1992, I got to ride a steam special when I was a member of the Bluewater chapter of the National Historical Railroad Society. There was a photo run by and I got a couple of nice pictures of the train. But that made me wish I could get more!

Fast forward a few years. I met and fell in love with the one man in all the world who would not only share my passion for baseball, but reawaken that thrill and desire to chase and photograph trains! There was another steam special in Michigan in October, 2005. This time I wasn’t on the train. This time, I was thrilled to be part of the frenzy of rail fans chasing it!

Looks awesome. Love the journaling. We had train tracks run by the river in our town & my mom would always take me down there so I could watch. Love your photos & how you placed them. Great page.

WOW! Love this page and the journaling is perfect. I live in Chattanooga, TN and trains have always been important to this area especially during the Cival War. Every year they have steam engine train trips through the area to view the fall colors. Unfortunately, this year I don't think the colors will be very good because of the drought but your LO sure has stirred up some memories... Thanks
