Journaling:
My most treasured childhood memories are playing with Mom. She didn’t play like other adults, she played like a kid. She would laugh and run, ride bikes and color with me. And, she was the master at playing “pretend”. I had one of those child-sized kitchens in my bedroom complete with the little table and little plates. Mom would give me peanut butter, jelly, bread and cookie cutters to make finger sandwiches. Once ready, I would deliver a hand written invitation to her... She was Mrs. Barbour and I was Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Barbour would always arrive on time with a hostess gift that usually consisted of cookies. We would sit at my little table and eat little sandwiches from my little plates. We would talk and laugh and share our dreams. And of course there were times when Mrs. Barbour would deliver a hand written lunch invitation to me. And I, like her, always arrived on time. My hostess gift however, usually consisted of something made of playdough.
