Wonderful journaling, honest and heartfelt. I can relate to your story only for me it's towards my mother. I don't have any resentment anymore, she's a nice person. Like you, with your step dad, I too, am lucky that I had my Oma to help my father bring us up. Love the blending of your fathers photo, behind the words, very beautifully done.
