Have you ever stopped and looked at the different ways weddings have been photographed over the years? These three photos are 63 years apart, and involve three separate generations. 1909, my husbands grandparents, married in England, formal photo taken outside with a hint of a smile, bride is holding the crook of the grooms arm and both are facing the photographer. 1947, my parents, photographed formally in a studio with beaming smiles, groom has an arm behind the bride and both are standing in a relaxed mode turned slightly towards each other. 1972, and although this wasn’t the rule with all photographers, ours wanted natural fun photos, he had us running through the park, twirling around and , sitting on the grass. Of course the similarities are plain to see, we all carried flowers, mine though were in a basket, our attire is the same in each photo, white gown, long veil for the brides and suites for the grooms, with a small buttonhole flower (yes my husband also has one you just can’t see it in the photo)
